"My mother has always been a leader type. Even if she didn't have the title she acted like she did. Guess you could say I've seen the expectations all my life?" He reasoned, trying to comprehend her logic and meld it with his own thoughts and feelings on the matter. To be in power seemed very natural to him, he was not hesitant to have his title and to use his title as needed. He did not want to do the hard work but that was another matter entirely and different emotion, feeling. But for someone who had never had one? He suppose it could illicit some hesitation, unwant, feelings he didn't himself have and was incapable of actually understanding beyond recognizing they existed.

"I am not- but would not put it past my mother to try." He openly mused and looked unbothered by the suggestion. Quite the opposite; he looked eager, intrigued, as an opportunity and door opened itself to him and he found himself looking on Marisol with a wide smile and eyes longing, purposeful and clear. "Do you think it'd be wrong to try and settle myself down quick to keep her from doing so?"

This mother made her increasingly more nervous. If she did court one of her children, she had a feeling she’d be scrutinized. She didn’t exactly like that idea. Perhaps she shouldn’t be so forward with him? But at the same time, it was incredibly fun in its own way. Mari knew she couldn’t let it be known she had no serious intentions on settling down any time soon. Many males were eager to become official mates far too soon. Then it would be a matter of pumping out litter after litter. That just wasn’t for her at this point.

Ah, so he was single. That was good to know. But his mother may ship him off to be married yet. Interesting. At his direct look, she couldn’t help but smile, just slightly. He did seem genuine so far, young and a bit naïve, perhaps, to trust her so soon, but genuine. “No, it would not be wrong, but I would not advise it,” she says softly, “make your intentions clear that you’d like to court someone, yes, but don’t rush things.” Rushing would be good for no one. Especially if he was dead set on courting her specifically. The advice she gave was what she thought, though. Even when she would become mates with someone, she would want to take it slow.

"Would you consider harmless flirting to be rushing things?" Sefu mused, leaning inwards to get back into her space with a bold grin over his dark chocolate muzzle. The gold on his face sparkled like royal jewels and his eyes stood stark, a calm contrast with their pale hue. He watched upon her, taking into consideration the lovely way her mane fell around her ears and he could trace each strand around down its path to her neck and face. "The second mother gets a whiff I might have an interest she's liable to be the one rushing things anyways." He said with more seriousness and less fun in his voice- a sigh and an exhale of warm breath came with. "Usually such a pretty face like you isn't so smart-" He thought aloud. "- but you are." Like it deserved some gold star or something- congrats you get to be pretty and be smart. Instead of respecting and realizing that anyone could be both, could be neither. It sounded like a compliment in his head and even after he said it. Sefu was not the wisest soul.
