Unsure of what he'd been expecting when he found his way into the tunnels of the catacombs, the only certainty he had is that it wasn't what he was witnessing now. The bio-luminescent surroundings lit the cavern in a dim blue that streaked and reflected in the waters to his right. The cavern occasionally broke through to the night sky above but for the most part it was just a damp and craggy series of paths which split and rejoined the underground creek. The dampness clung to the walls and stalactites began growing down from the sides in long spires of uneven and gnarled ridges. Darkened green eyes hid behind the dark circles of his face, crawling slowly in until he found himself at the water's edge, peering into the glassy surface and wondering if any creatures lurked beneath there, would they pull him into the shadowy depths if he lingered too long?

so sorry for the wait!

It would appear that the young girl had a knack for getting herself lost. While first entering the opening she found along the mountains seemed like a good idea for an adventure, the maned child eventually found herself turned around beneath the catacombs, uncertain of which way was out. All Kya could do was keep walking in one direction in hopes of either finding a way out or finding someone to help her out of the caves.

The longer she walked in the darkness, though, the more the child could feel her heartbeat rise. There was a panic settling in, bringing with it the thought that she might never get out of the darkness. The orphan's pace quickened in this panicked state, as if running through the darkness would bring her to rescue that much quicker. She barely noticed where she was going before arriving onto the sight of a strange light beneath the earth. She had never seen anything like it before as Kyarri's honeyed gaze was swept all around the cavern. Though her pace had slowed, her attention was not in where she was walking. While her head was raised, gazing upon the spires that fell from the ceiling of the caves, Kya would likely manage to bump right into the other cub without noticing him in front of her.

The time spent with his eyes meticulously searching the depths of the water was lost on him. In the distance there were small echoes of movements and idle drips of moisture, sometimes falling onto the hard earth and other times making small ripples in the water. It was these droplets that pulled his attention back down and transfixed him, even his breathing felt like it had completely stopped.

Then it happened.

A small body crumpled into his side and he felt himself pushed over a few inches, his breath sucked in suddenly and his body whipped around to stare at her directly, lips cautiously raised before he realized that it was... it was another cub. The brash reaction from before mostly at his own inattentiveness, but suddenly with his alarm slowing he relaxed and let the tense breath go. "Hey! Watch it!" But that was too harsh, and he wasn't really terribly upset at her, no, he was just mad at himself and mad that he'd gotten so interested in the water and the lights reflecting off of them that this was really his own fault. Mother would be disappointed with his behavior, a good warrior was aware of their surroundings. "Where were you going? You could have fallen into the water you know." The last bit said with a degree of concern that he tried to hide, and the fear that if she had fallen in that he wouldn't have been able to effectively help her.

The other thing that hadn't dawned on him is that outside of roughhousing with his sister, he wasn't quite sure how interact with other cubs, let alone girls.
